Magazine Layout
In my JCOM 365 class, Intro to Design, we had the opportunity to make a 16-page magazine on a topic of our choice. I chose to do mine on running and named it StrideSoul. It covers the outstanding performances within the sport and how big a role our mind plays in success. From this project, I feel confident in my ability to choose engaging pictures, pair fonts, and write compelling headlines and decks.
Editorial Works Women In Flight Newsletter
A role of my internship with the Women In Flight branch within the Duck Athletic Fund at the University of Oregon is putting together a monthly newsletter that showcases achievements of our female student-athletes, events coming up, and ways to support our female student-athletes. Through doing this, I have gained skills in writing. I have also learned how to choose engaging photos and design them in a way that is easy for the eye to read. These emails get sent out to over 100,000 donors.
Profile Story
In my Writing As Practice class at the University of Oregon, we had the opportunity to write a profile on a person of our choice. Through writing this piece, I gained skills in interviewing and knowing what questions will evoke the best responses. I also learned how to form a theme throughout the Profile and to include stories to make it the most engaging for the audience.
